Don Goddard on Etsy - Coming Soon

It has been a rainy spring in Montreal, and I am busily preparing new work for the upcoming 1001 pots show in July, followed by a window display at Galerie Farfelu.

I also have a new Etsy store in the works that I hope to launch later this year. It will be a showcase of my smaller works, starting out mainly with a collection of my tea bowls (chawan) available for purchase.

If you wish to know more about the launch of the new Etsy site, please follow along on my new instagram account where I'll be showing images of my new work, as well as some behind-the-scenes of my process.

Summer 2016 News

Here is a little preview of my current work from this summer.

The 5th image and first tea bowl pictured won second place at this year's tea bowl/chawan competition at 1001 Pots in Val-David, Qc.

I am always grateful to have been invited to participate in this show from its earliest beginnings, it is always a joy to see the floods of people that enjoy it during our wonderful summer in the Quebec Laurentians. If you've never been I urge you to check it out next year, it always starts mid July through until mid August. 1001pots.com

260 Fingers 2015

I will be participating in the 260 Fingers Ceramic Show in Ottawa again this year. It's coming up this weekend and is not to be missed. Referred to as "a short, sweet show of really worthwhile clay art", I cannot express how inspiring and well organized this show was the last time I was invited to participate. I look forward to another great year.

Show runs from November 13th through 15th, 2015.

I've neglected to post recently, so Happy New Year! Here are some images of my work on display at General Fine Craft in Almonte, Ontario from just before Christmas last year.

Hope to photograph some new work soon and get them on here.

Spring is On Its Way

The days are starting to get longer, or at least the sun is still visible at 5 o'clock which is a wonderful feeling. Over the past few months I have been working on some new work, but also spending lots of time on some personal projects and renovations.

Now that March is almost here there are some big changes about to take place at Galerie Farfelu, the cooperative that I am a part of in Westmount here in Montreal. Our store will be getting a face lift, creating a new experience for our customers and a new, refreshed environment for our work. My nephew Simon Johns is working with us to create something extra special for our boutique. The gallery will be closed from February 23rd to March 10th while we redo the floors, repaint and begin installations. Hope to see you there on March 11th!

Until then, here are a few newer pieces of mine.

Happy New Year!

Here are some images from General Fine Craft (one of the retail outlets that represents my work) from the holidays (first two) and of the interior during my visit in the summer when they had an incredible exhibit of handmade puppets. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Almonte Ontario is a beautiful little town and The General is a fantastic shop full of the most wonderful handpicked art & craft from so many skilled Canadian artists. It is a pleasure to be a part of.

I want to thank you all for a wonderful 2013 and can't wait to share with you the new developments in my life & work this year.

Show at Gaia Montreal

Gaia is a beautiful little gallery on Laurier East in Montreal, owned by fellow ceramicist Catherine Auriol. Myself and Carmen Abdallah are currently exhibiting there until October 27th. It's a beautiful space, and I feel grateful to have been asked to take part. Hope you can go check it out!
